For more on Diablo IV Season 1, check out our Season of the Malignant interview. Fans can expect plenty of other changes when Diablo IV's first season starts on July 20. This latest update is fairly small compared to Diablo IV's previous patch, which brought major changes to Diablo IV's endgame by increasing the amount of XP earned from Helltide chests and Nightmare dungeons and significant class balance changes. As Blizzard had previously stated would be happening, the cap for crafting materials has now been increased from 9,999 to 99,999, meaning it will be much harder to ever be capped on a specific material. Most of the other changes listed in the patch notes are related to bug fixes or fixing other minor issues, but there is one nice quality-of-life change. Another hotfix to address the issue and re-insert the ability to find some of the game's most powerful Uniques is expected to drop on the afternoon of July 7. A hot fix was quickly released that has temporarily disabled the ability to find the ultra-rare Uniques entirely, but not before large groups of players had already earned some of the best items in the game that, prior to this patch, had only been discovered by a select few since Diablo IV's launch. However, it appears that was a mistake on Blizzard's part. Players have complained that some of the game's ultra-rare "Uber" Uniques are so rare they might as well not even exist, so these changes will hopefully make them (ever so slightly) more common.įunnily enough, "Uber" Uniques did become relatively much more common following the patch's release. It's a nice change that should make Diablo IV's endgame a little smoother, making it easier to target-farm for specific items that players may be chasing in order to perfect their builds.
